Playing International day in the Quad and other such nonsense.

Music is life. Nate and I have known each other since grade school. We just seem to come and go, crossing paths, have an adventure and then off we'd go again. Both sets of our parents were concerned about us hanging out and even went so far as to ban us from hanging out over the summer one year. Although we’ve never discussed it, I’m bet my leaving the band to join a “rival” band and then playing a show a few weeks later back to back, felt pretty shitty. Sorry Bro.

Like I mentioned when you’re a christian band from a church, you have an instant following. Turns out, it works with secular bands too if you play at the school. For international day we got invited to play the Quad over the lunch break and presentations. Over the course of an hour, the entire school of 1500 students passed by our stage in the middle of the school. After that, we were GODS! Even the hip hop guys liked us!! lol

The main hallway at Hogan Sr felt like a mile long. And for some reason no one knows how to put classrooms close together so you don’t have to run for your life. Have you ever seen those videos from China in a subway and all those people pushing to get by? Ok, it wasn’t that bad, but in my mind it was a battlefield. The one thing I remember is people smiling and shaking your hand or giving you the “sup” headnod. The teachers too. It felt like we ruled that school!

Next time:

Smells like Aza, jumping off the stage at the end of the year assembly.
